Please go to Donut Plains! It's my newer/updated Mario site!

Like it's predecessor, Super Mario
World revolves around Mario saving
Princess Peach after she's been
captured, no surprise. It's the
classic storyline that's made Mario
great. Unlike most of Mario's
previous games, it does not take
place in the Mushroom Kingdom,
whereas it takes place in a new
world called Dinosaur Land
Super Mario World is a new
platformer, but it retains the
classic style of Mario. It's still a
side-scrolling game to the right,
but with new features. Yoshi, a
dinosaur who tries to help his
fellow dinosaurs from being captured
by Bowser, gives this game a new
element to the Game Play. Yoshi can
reach further differences with
tongue. Different color Yoshi's have
different abilities, whether it be
flying or spitting out fire. There's
not too many changes otherwise from
the previous games in terms of Game
Play, but with it's simplicity, SMW
is easy and fun to play\
Visually, Super Mario World is one
of the greatest games on the SNES.
Mario's back with a new style, and
being in a different world gave
Nintendo tremendous opportunities
for new level designs. Each level
looks great and done with detail.
Even each enemy or character -
everything's smooth and visually
pleasing.
We all know the Super Mario Bros.
theme. We can play it in our heads,
identify it, hum it, etc. Same goes
with the Super Mario World theme.
The music in this game is great and
memorable, and there's not very many
tracks that I would consider to be
bad. Each sound effect is on cue
with the game's action, and the
musical score is just great all
around
96. That's how many exits to the
levels are in Super Mario World.
Even if a player's beaten the game,
they have plenty to replay when
they're finished. Trying to find all
the exits and having so many
different levels gives Super Mario
World a great replay ability. The
game has some challenge in it as
well, so it's going to take some
time for some players to get through
a second time. With all the
different places to explore, there's
plenty for players to do after their
first completion of the game
Overall, Super Mario World is a
classic game. Everyone knows about
it, most people like it. It's not
quite the level of a Super Mario
Bros. or a Supre Mario Bros. 3, but
with it's good looks, sound,
gameplay and replay ability, it's
one to be remembered
Overall Score: 9.0/10
